Songhai Art
The Songhai's art was very advanced, when the children went off to their schools (yes they had schools); they were taught how to dance, draw, paint, and poetry. The children often wove blankets and mats. While the Art wasn't very abundant back then most was blankets and mats they would sell to tourists from shops and such. The mats were mainly geometric shapes, and the blankets were mainly cotton. the other forms of art were the bronze and brass handicrafts that they got from the Niger river. often turned into pots, bowls, and sometimes the metal was just sold. the pottery was often left to the women, while the other mask making was left to the men.
